Sideshow recently announced a new Star Wars statue line called "Mythos" which expands on the fiction surrounding key characters and illustrates scenes that may have happened "off camera" so to speak. I was fortunate enough to play a role in the launch of the line by sculpting the Darth Maul statue and illustrating a piece of mood art to go with it. Here's the link for the statue teaser

And you can find out more about the Darth Maul statue and the Mythos line as a whole by following the below link to the mMythos article on the Sideshow Experience site.

My good buddy Dave Igo [link] provided the initial concepts for both the Darth Maul statue and the mood art, and it was a great pair of collaborations between the two of us on both components.

This piece marks the first (and probably last) full figure statue from me in the collectibles industry as my sculpting days are mostly likely behind me at this point since I've transitioned into being a full-time concept artist. So it's nice to feel like I'm starting and finishing on a high note. ;)

Thanks for looking guys!

Walter

Looks sweet, man! I was so disappointed that he only appeared in one movie of the new trilogy and died. He was the coolest new character they had for the prequels and then to kill him off in the first one? Lame.

This piece, and the accompanying artwork, are amazing! I remember a couple of years ago when I got to see the sculpt in person and i was so impressed with the anatomy, energy, and feel of the bare sculpt....Talk about inspiring!

I can't accept that you'll be leaving sculpting behind, though....Say it aint so!!! :) Hopefully it's only due to being bombarded by awesome concept art projects.

That's some gorgeous work you've done. It's a spitting image of Ray Park as Darth Maul. Bravo, sir!
