Okay, I’m still posting these out of order, but that’s how I roll… I’m a rebel.
This is my take on a very pissed off and hairy Wolverine of Marvel Comics fame. This is the second of four cover samples I sent to Marvel back at the end of October, in an attempt to persuade them to give me a shot at working for them. So far it’s not working, but my momma didn’t raise no quitter. She also raised me to use better grammar than that last sentence, but that’s how all the cool kids talk, and I’m highly susceptible to peer-pressure.
If you’re not familiar with the character Wolverine, here’s a little bit of info… Wait…what? You don’t know who Wolverine is? Where the hell have you been for the last 20 years?!! He’s EVERYWHERE!!! He’s on t-shirts, cups, stickers, folders, party hats… Hell, think of anything that you can put a picture on, and there one of those with Wolverine on it. Ummm… He’s kind of popular.
Whenever I see pictures of Wolverine it’s always about the claws, so I tried to buck the trend and focus on the man… and more importantly, his rage. The claws are still there, but I put them in the background and tried to make you really focus on his face and all of the anger and pain behind it. Did I succeed? I don’t know. But I sure did make him really fucking hairy though didn’t I?!!!

..you have won my undying love. Yes, you did AMAZINGLY well to portray his rage and angry and his hairyness (which works for no other man but him, imho) and..just..I squealed outloud when I saw this. Very nice.

Stomach is a bit over blown. Looks like he's about to give birth to a chest burster. I would have made his abs smaller to make it more anotomically correct. I understand artists want to put their own touches on, but when selling something like this it's usually best to go with something that's a bit more realistic.

I believe in making the world safe for our children, but not our children's children, because I don't think children should be having sex.
