Why Dan Cope Rules - Part 2 by No-Sign-of-Sanity Why Dan Cope Rules - Part 2 by No-Sign-of-Sanity
This is what happens when a master painter like Dan “Danno” Cope gets a hold of some of your resin castings and brings the awesome. Dan Cope is an incredibly talented bastard and he was nice enough to slap some paint on my Batman Beyond busts with fantastic results. I couldn’t be happier with how these turned out! =D

Check out Danno’s gallery here [link] to see the magic he’s done on dozens and dozens of kits and come to the realization that many others already have… Danno really is da man!!!

I've admired these sculptures for a while but never asked if they were going into production. I'd love to get a pair, even if they were unpainted.

Hi,,the platform that the bust stands on really looks like it real stone?
DNLnamek01 Featured By Owner Jan 31, 2009
Nice. This bust kinda reminds me of Mandy Patinkin. Probably how stoic his face looks and makes me think of Rube.

Damn.....Bruce looks so bitter and old in this....

I love it.

It's weird to see Wayne with so many wrinkles... He looks so much sleeker in the animation.
Again, amazing sculpture, amazing paint job!
Centurion-Lothar Featured By Owner Jun 24, 2008
Nothing quite so incredible as two amazing talents coming together to form a single piece of work that is far beyond any expectations that I could have had. This has to be one of the coolest things I have ever seen on DA.

The guys at DC Direct have already seen these pieces, it's just not their cup of tea. Since my versions of the characters haven't ever been officially seen like this in comics or the tv show there really isn't a definite market for these. It really wasn't ever the goal to try and get these produced anyway. It was more about me just taking the characters and having a good time putting my spin on them. I'm glad you dig them! ;)

:jawdrop: You're not kidding that guy does a wonderful paint job! You do a mean life-like Bruce Wayne yourself. You can actually see the bones of the good looking young man he once was.
peanutbutter-liver Featured By Owner Dec 1, 2007
I'm amazed at how he doesn't just have the redness in his wrinkles, but age spots!!

Usually i think paint takes away from the sculpts, but in this case it looks awesome. Great sculpt, and GREAT painting.

Dan very good in fact he's better, I like the shine on the eyes, must be using some sort of clear gloss to give it that wet look pretty awsome technique ^^ and I love your resin castings their very impressive :)

are the highlights on the eyes painted on ? ( I don't think so ) if not, how did you achieve the reflectivity ?
No-Sign-of-Sanity Featured By Owner Oct 4, 2007  Professional General Artist
I'm pretty sure Danno coated the eyes with a clear acrylic gloss to make them look wet. Nifty little technique eh? =D
