It feels like forever since I submitted any finished work here, so here's a new commission piece I just completed for a wonderful client and fellow comic book fan. He's a great guy and pretty much gave me free reign to do whatever I wanted, so long as it was Superman themed. I'm pretty happy with the results, and thankfully so is he ;)

For those unfamiliar with the character, Bizarro is a essentially a failed clone of Superman that's still incredibly powerful, but not quite all together there mentally or emotionally. So he's like a 5yr old child with the strength of a god... fucking scary shit!!!

This is just a pencil rendering on 14"x17" smooth Strathmore Bristol paper.

The true history of Bizarro is that he was jealous of Superman, so he tried to be everything Superman was not, including DEAD. Originally Superman tricked Bizarro into killing himself. BUT sales went through the roof, so DC brought him back.

I liked the funnier Bizarro stories when I was a kid. Comics only cost a dime back then...

wow!this is so dramatic, amazing background:faint:
and as for our man, i don't know Bizarro or how evil he is, but there is so much emotion in his expression and his hands it makes me feel quite sad, like he's a kind of tragic misunderstood frankenstein's monster type figure
he just needs to be loved!;-)

That is the scariest Bizarro I have ever seen! I've always felt we was a bit of a goofy villain. Like if they ever need a light hearted issue: "Hey guys, lets do a funny Bizarro or Mr. Mxyzptlk story!...lol

However you have really transformed him into one bad ass, heavy hitting, scary freaky, run home to your momma , super super villain! More evil than naive which is sort of what he is.
