It feels like forever since I submitted any finished work here, so here's a new commission piece I just completed for a wonderful client and fellow comic book fan. He's a great guy and pretty much gave me free reign to do whatever I wanted, so long as it was Superman themed. I'm pretty happy with the results, and thankfully so is he
Thanks for the business Steve! You Rock!!!
For those unfamiliar with the character, Bizarro is a essentially a failed clone of Superman that's still incredibly powerful, but not quite all together there mentally or emotionally. So he's like a 5yr old child with the strength of a god... fucking scary shit!!!
This is just a pencil rendering on 14"x17" smooth Strathmore Bristol paper.
That's so awesome! Oh I love the detail in the background and on the character himself. The veins and tendons in the hands and face....love it. Great job! Steve's a lucky fella to get this.

I'm not a huge fan of Superman, but dude... This is freakin' sweet! I love all the detail in the shading, especially around his face and hands.
Great job!

Wow NSoS! This kicks ass! I don't wanna blow smoke up your ass or anything, but I gotta tell you, Alex Ross ain't got nothin on you. I wish I could whip the collective asses of those DC guys that said "no cover artists needed" when you went to the con a couple of months ago.
Thank you! The hands were giving me all kinds of trouble because they're rather small in the actual drawing and then to try and make them look all destroyed and scarred and so forth = not as easy as I thought it was going to be. It all worked out in the end though
I actually agree with you. I've always been a bigger Marvel fan than DC fan but I love and hate characters from both camps so I tend to ride the fence a little bit. But I will say this, DC has the better animated cartoons. Bruce Timm is the shiznit!

love it. Can I burrow his strong fingers for a bit? Mine are a bit overused and sore, and need a break.
