Batman vs. Killer Crocby ~No-Sign-of-Sanity

Traditional Art / Drawings / Illustration / Conceptual

This is the concept art I did for the Batman vs. Killer Croc statue for DC Direct’s “Classic Confrontations" line of battle statues. The statue itself was sculpted by the insanely awesome Ray Villafane and can be seen on DC Direct’s site here [link]

This line of statues is really fun to work on because it is a totally collaborative group effort where everyone gets to add their own flare to the piece and build on it as it goes along. My art director (Jim Fletcher) will give me his idea for the overall design of the piece and then my job is to flesh out the concept, and make it look cool. The sculptor (Ray Villafane) then uses my concept art as a basic guideline and creates the final piece adding his own details and design elements along the way. It’s really a wonderful way to work that brings out the best in everyone and I’m just thrilled to be a part of the team. Thanks Jim and Ray!
