This is the Alan Scott, Golden Age Green Lantern, head I sculpted for DC Direct’s 1:6 scale action figure line last year. Alan Scott is the original version of the Green Lantern character (that existed way before Hal Jordan) and I was tasked to make him look like the pulp heroes of that timeframe. I gathered a ton of reference and tried to make him a combination of all of the major actors of that day.
I sculpted an unmasked version as well, but since DC hasn’t shown it yet I don’t think I’m able to either.
Again, these type of heads have that very exaggerated skin texture for a reason. During production the heads are cast in a semi-translucent flesh-toned resin and the surface ends up becoming slightly obscure. The look of the skin texture becomes much more subtle and appears very realistic at this really small scale.
Although these photos are of a gray resin casting, the original head was sculpted in Super Sculpey.

looking really forward to but more sculpts done by you..
